We are looking for people who . . .
love to exercise
are looking for low-impact, full-body workouts
enjoy cross-training
want to be surrounded by the beauty and nature of Northern California’s Delta while they exercise
appreciate camaraderie
If this is you, Stockton Rowing Club invites you to participate in our Taste of Rowing! We welcome interested adults (18+) to learn rowing (sweep rowing and sculling in 8-person and 4-person boats).
In each session we will teach you how to use a rowing machine to learn the basic body sequence used in both sweep rowing and sculling. You will also get familiar with the extensive terminology used among rowers to handle a boat to and from the water and to move a boat safely while on the water. As you may know, rowing is a whole body, low impact sport – we’ll show you typical strengthening and stretching exercises used by rowers. Most importantly, you’ll get an opportunity to put all this learning into practice by going out in our rowing barge, and if the weather cooperates, you’ll even get in one of our four-person or eight-person boats.Instruction is provided by expert coaches and members of SRC. We have the best water in Northern California with lots of good weather – perfect conditions to make rowing one of the best sports possible in Northern California!
